What cranks for a 98-ish D/S bike?

Wanting to know what options for a crankset for a 97-00 type build.
colour scheme red/white/black/952....(white frame and red pedals though)

I didnt think about cranks back in those days when I was flickin through the glossy pages.....So I don't have a go-to *now I can finally own them* choice.

Thinking either the obvious xtr with a 4-bolt spider, AC, Middleburn, Raceface?

I've got a fair few ano/cnc'd bits....would prefer something that looks machined that way.


Help me. Suggestions please.

I'd go with Middleburn, but avoid 4-arm chainrings as there is something wrong about the look to me! 5-arm all the way...

AC Lo Pro's are pretty damn cool (but I have a set do I am biased).

Failing that some XTR M952's would be really cool if you can find some that still have some anodising left.
