What bottom bracket advice

sheggers

I've a Shimano 600 Arabesque crankset but I'm not sure which bottom bracket will fit this that'll have the right spindle length. The bike is an old Claude Butler Mixte from 1984 and it has British threads.

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Re:

Thanks, will take a look around - presume any Shimano BB with 116mm will be fine? Think I'd prefer something modern that'll need minimum maintenance.

If the old 600 has the same offset as the early 90s 300 and Exage, then a 113.5mm UN55 should do the trick.

I'd have thought 116 might be a bit wide, but it depends how much the stays kick out really!

0.5mm won't make a difference at all. I'd try a 115mm as that's closest to what you need, but you might find that another size would give a better fit, depending on chainstay size and shape, dropout spacing, etc. try it and see is the best way to find out

Re:

i would start at 115 un55. (d-h in spindle markings)

a 113 (LL 113) would give the same chainline, just brings in the none driveside arm
