West Midlands Christmas ride - Saturday 17th

sorry guys I am now out - too much to do before christmas and a 'surprise' visit by relatives tomorrow afternoon.

Totally lame I know, this is the second one I have dipped on at the last minute now - sorry about that. :(

I will be back on it properly in the new year.

Dave if you are passing and need and inner tube then I can fix you up.

I am going to bloody well hold you to that Mr Adrian !!!!

Stu are you still attending?

So that leaves Ed, Hopefully Stu and me?

Well, nice ride again today :D Cheers to Dave and Ed.

Usual mixture of mud, leaves, mud, roots, mud, more up than down (even though we started and finished at the same spot), and mud.

Oh, and snow :xmas-big-grin:

A few photo's attached (taken with a rubbish phone camera, but you get the idea).

I was hoping to make a surprise appearance here but, true to form the Snot Twins passed on the usual Christmas illness. to be fair to them it wasn't the general very bad cold type but my chest was never going to be grateful for a cold winter ride.

It looked fun though and hopefully see you all at Cannock.

Had a great ride today on Ed`s local loop!!

Battled through some dodgy weather to get to bandit country in the Pork chopper express but arrive I did with the nice suprise of Stu there already! after some chitter chatter and coffee we set off out into the wilderness with Ed leading the way ....Uphill naturally !!

The loop surprised me I have to admit I was expecting (uphill !!) but it was a blast with pretty much everything thrown into the package with the added excitment of snow and ice!! I would love to have another go at it in the summer 8)

Special mention really must be said to the edwards (Ed & Vin) hosptatilty from coffee in the morning, to arriving at the top of a climb to find mince pies and crackers to after ride food and drinks and chatter really top stuff !! 8)

Would also like to thank Ed and Stu in taking a minutes silence with me in memory of my dad who passed away three years today , Great way to remember him.

Would be rude not to mention my tyre selection of course , I went for modern choice that I think are TOO good , They seem to stick to everything and were hard bloody work to push (my excuse!! )

Great day , Great company

I can feel great things for West Midlands in 2012 !!!

Thanks to Dave and Stuart for making it across yesterday, a smashing ride in good company. Unfortunately Dave bought a modern bike that really seemed to weigh him down, both physically and spiritually.

There's plenty more that we can do with the ride (we missed some really tidy singletrack at the end) so it's one that I suspect will be repeated in 2012. On the subject of which, please post up thoughts/ideas in the '2012 Rides' thread, if only to stop me just doing what I want with no thought of others.

Looks like you had a great day.
I really wanted to come as i've not riden Haugh Woods for at least ten years.

Can't wait to get stuck into 2012 and i might even give mountain mayhem a go to celebrate my 40th birthday as they are in the same month.
