The sky over Liverpool was alive with thunder earlier. Never heard anything like it... Constant rumbling for about 5 to 10 minutes. It was quite spectacular.

all quiet in newcastle, been warm and heavy rain for the past 5hrs or so though........love thunder storms too.

Just got back from walking the dogs over the country park, no rain but the big blobs of cloud had lightning chasing around in them

This cloud was quite 'alive' when I first got over there

About 4.30pm in Chester, there was a huge boom and then the sounds of car alarms going off, didn't see the lightning as I don't have a window in work.

The most awesome summer down pour I've seen this side of Suez this afternoon 12 miles off the essex coast. Truly monsoon intensity; the phrase stair rods always seems a laughable over statment for rain but this did it justice!

I went out on the bridge wing in shorts and a polo shirt just to enjoy.

all quiet on the east coast front....clear blue skies and warm ..just billions of these darn tiny black beatles...they love safety vests which sucks as i got to wear one all day long...so do my pupils...
