I am responsible for my post.. you are the reason it was posted.

Again, blame shifting.

Mine was intended as a jovial cliche, and (as I try to no longer take most of what I read on here seriously) yours was a jovial (if not strange) response.

Your reaction to the other chap is a bit weird though...

But im sure you are just joking all along right?

Messing about is probably a better term.. but yes, you am right .. there's only one person on here that irritates me greatly and I don't respond to them..

The thing about Denmark is that you pay higher taxes, but you consequently live a life free of the worries a lot of us here have.

Your kids are well catered for in terms of schooling, etc. Your elderly relatives are cared for when required by people who are in that work as a vocation, are well trained and paid and subsequently value their role much more and commit to it.

You go into a dentist and get the best treatment based on your membership of that tax system, and likewise your medical treatment is assured.

There is no bad side to it at all.

You pay higher tax, but you earn well too.

There is something magical about Denmark, and I think a large part of it is down to its taxation and welfare system.

You were obviously here under the social dems. It's changed since then. Not as bad as the UK yet - but current government seems intent on introducing Thatcher-type reforms that will change Denmark for the worse.

True the money's good (for now - but that's just a matter of time). But house prices are high, cars cost 5 times what they cost in the UK- I paid £75K in 2007 for an 8-year old Peugeot 306 Estate that would have cost under a grand in the UK.

Welfare system is being eroded - nonfinanced tax cuts have put paid to that. Class sizes are increasing. Schools are being merged. Hospital staffing levels are a national disgrace - hospital care standard is not what it was. (Am married to a nurse so I know a lot about this).

Oh and dental care isn't free. Never was. And is some of the most expensive in europe. Many danes use german or swedish dentists.

Still, it could be worse.

Aye, twas the 90s.

I had a porcelain crown for which I do not remember paying a dime, but then again it was all done on the day as an emergency referral. Maybe I just don't remember, but more likely my better half swallowed the bill. I was pretty out of it.

My daughter had braces etc. all gratis! That I do remember.

I am sorry to hear things have gone to pot, the people I am still in contact with don't report that, but they don't tend to complain!

I would still love to come back to live there someday. Maybe only for a year or two. I suffer from permanently itchy feet. :)

Still it does mean that thatcherite Cameron and his cronies are biting off the very hand that fed them in the general election. Will middle England feel the same in four and a half years time if this carries on? There's only so long that they can blame the previous government for what they are doing now. One wonders what George Osborne would have done if the economic crisis had happened on his watch. Probably a similar thing seeing as he is as minted as the rest of his cabinet mates and his party backers. When it's all over for him he'll become an 'advisor' to some bank just to keep his eye in and no doubt reap the rewards of being another one the true crooks in all this.

Why does everyone bash the tories for being rich?!!? It's just stupid inverted snobbery, are you jealous?

I don't recall any of the last Labour government needing income support?????!!!!!!

I'd also much prefer someone WITH money to look after MY money.

Party backers? - Oh yes, Labour have party backers, they're people like Bob Crow and other union leaders who want to completely ruin everybody's lives for no valid reason!!! They kept very quiet when Labour were f**king the country up, now there is some pain to be felt they're adding to it!!!! And with SIX FIGURE SALARIES TOO!!!!!

Becoming an advisor? - I hear Tony Blair is doing quite well thankyouverymuch

Hear Hear Ross.

The whole Tory/snob bashing thing is old hat and a massive cliche.

How much do you reckon the labour government earned as individuals?..
Rediculous argument bought up by lefty loons.
Blair & Brown & most of their crew went to wealthy universities too you know!

Accept it - The Tories are trying hard to undo 13 years of outrageous wasting of funds.
Without this action the country will plunge even further into trouble.
There are no easy options, and everyone has to suffer to some degree.

If you had a look at my response to the post from Ross you will see that I was wondering what would have happened if the economic crisis had happened under the current government. Not much other than what was done anyway I expect. Just an easy target though.

Yes, Gordon Brown went to University in Edinburgh as it happens but a quick look at Wiki shows me he went to Kirkcaldy High School. Not much public about that. Bit different from Cameron (Eton and Oxford) and Clegg (Westminster and Cambridge) and even Blair (Fettes and Oxford) but lets not split hairs there. I made my feelings quite clear about him in my post. Myself, I went to a local comp and Salford. Good rough city university.

We'll see anyway. Tick tock. My last post on this one comrades.

As for Ian.... well I just didn't really appreciate having my health messed with. I've never had a photosensitive seizure but having had more than 20 other related incidents since 2003 when I was diagnosed I'm a bit sensitive about it.

I'll also put that one to bed now lest it turn into something other than a "joke".

One of my old workmates died in a seizure. So it's no laughing matter. He was home alone with his 2-year old daughter and noone to save him once it started. Still get upset thinking about it.
