managed a drive to melton though, some cool stuff at the jumble, got a lovely red turbo for peanuts, well a pint and a bag of nuts  . gonna not ride the day before binbrook so i dont jinx myself lol, had 35 mins on the turbo just now and the sweat and open wounds wreck

:D

Great ride , great weather and great company , tough going but worth it , big thanks to Chris and anyone else involved in organising it , it's really good to see some youngsters getting involved in retrobike with great enthusiasm . Well done to all of you but slow down a bit please and let us oldies keep up , got to admit to feeling my age a bit toward the end of it yesterday after being blown away on the hills by someone 1/2 my age on a Raleigh Activator! , just proves the point that it's not about the bike though.
Looking forward to the next one .
Matthew

We all had a look at that red turbo saddle too Chris

Shame you couldn't ride but I can assure you it wasn't quite as dry as it looked, quite heavy going in places and the last 3 or 4 miles were very wet and muddy indeed.

Everyone stayed on though despite the slippery conditions (apart from Dans comedy dismount which I may have been a factor in ) and we had no major mechanicals just a couple of punctures.

I missed the first climb on Strava but it looks as if the elevation gain was just over 2200 feet and there were 18 pretty weary legs by the end!

Just so you know Chris , the elevation gain I logged was 2605 ft , more than we did last week on Settle/Malham ride . !!

Thanks for that info Matthew, my legs definitely agree with those figures this morning!

Yeah, I'm all good thanks, the bruises are already fading away and I have some classic "chainring stripes" :)

It's a shame Ben didn't get it on camera, it would have made it feel more worthwhile.

Far more importantly, zero damage was done to the Zaskar.
