Had some of those in Silver, very good as were the Arch Rivals.

Might be wrong, but I reckon its the levers that make the biggest difference along with a decent set of cartridge pads (which those have in the Rim Wranglers)

Well, thats my theory too.....ordered ceramic pads as well, dunno if it makes a diff.

Ceramic pads work better with Ceramic rims and not sure, but might wear ordinary rims a bit quicker than normal pads.

Would rather have the older xtr really, which always worked well for me.

Just been out on some new 08 XT shifters actually and they are very 'positive', ie bit agricultural!
They are however fast release, as they release the cable on the push of lever rather than the release. What this means is that every shift was early which meant I still had power on :roll:

Well I got the Avid SD7's yesterday...beautiful engineering they are not...not even particularly light..when I think of all the lovely V's I have sold :cry: .
Ah well, they'll do until I find something else....CRC only sent one XTR lever
