Indeed it was a folding bike. They were available for a year or two but they didn't get very far. Never rode one nor saw one in person. I have to say, this is a bike that I haven't thought of for many a year. It seemed to me that they weren't one of the tiny folding bikes with you that can fit on a train and even folded up, still took up a lot of space. So take a folded but still awkward bike and take away some of the performance and people probably said, "Not worth it." My guess, of course.
