Picked up this eclectic mix of bikes over the weekend.
First up was a 97 Rockhopper from a boot sale,
covered in dirt but in great condition, except for the saddle.
While waiting for an appointment at the opticians I looked next door in Cash Generator
and saw this 94 CB Genesis. Looks all original Alivio MC10 hubs, gears chainset, only problem right shifter not working (that got me a £7 reduction). Built like a brick outhouse but rides well and not that heavy. Never heard of this one before but it's growing on me.
Last and definitely least is this Urbanite folding MTB
(well that's how the Gumtree ad described it). It weighs a ton but couldn't resist the novelty for a tenner. I love the 7 speed shifter, never seen this type before. The fork has about 5mm travel !!
In all they cost me £63 and I reckon I can refurb and sell the CB & Urbanite and get back the money I paid for the Rockhopper - which is a keeper.
How did I get into this  . A year ago I just thought I'd buy an old bike, do it up and get back into cycling. Now I've got four that I like so much I don't want to get rid of them, four for winter rebuilds and five that have been given to friends or sold to fund parts/bikes.
HELP!! My name is Ray and I'm an addict.
