Early short ride as busy day ahead…open curtains and greeted by rain…dress and into shed…choose the Avalanche…let tyres down a bit and wish my 1.8’s were 2.1s…hit the trail…slip and slide…rain falling heavy now…feel alive…new bar/stem combo nice and sharp…up the first climb and feeling good…into the woods and slip on the exposed roots and rocks…keep it upright and onto the open dirt track…brief stint on the road clears the tyres…back home and hose bike down…lock shed…playtime over…best ride ever

long story..but in Baiku ( :P ) wife meets ozzie woman at school (new mum). ozzie woman member of Amnesty...invites herself to lunch at ours and brings her 'pet' asylum seeker...feel sorry for the guy on many levels, not least of which putting up with do-gooding ozzie woman...turns out asylum seeker v.nice chap from Zimbabwe..experienced terrible things..but likes football and house music so chat to him about that. Not into mountain biking though :?

Saturday, early one, need to clear my head, take DOGS to the woods, chase the singletrack for an hour, spin home. :)

Sunday, 12 miles of forest singletrack, fireroads, bridleways - see nobody or no other life form. 6 miles of tarmac into headwind home. 90 minutes of torrential rain. Best ride ever! :D

They are the best ones, just your bike for company, enjoy the scenery and completely alone with your thoughts
