I called into a bike shop looking for a new road bike, and during the conversation the sales assistant, the subject of older bikes came up, and the assistant said they had this guy in who ran a website called oldbikes.com or somthing like that, where all these guys are riding old MTBs and I quote 'It's F*****G cool, all these guys riding linnier fade Kleins, and stuff' I asked him if he had looked at Retrobike.co.uk and he did say that was the website he had looked at.

He gave great service, The shop was Evans at Gatwick and the sales guy was 'Ed. A'

Brilliant....It makes it sound a little unusual and exclusive...like some Secret Society....my bike is only 'Retro' because I never bought a newer one

Ha ha, that was me spreading the word there... I didn't say I ran it btw. But was getting quite a bit of interest from the new generation who thought the idea of an older mtb was 'cool'.

The shop assistants in my LBS (a very reputable shop owned by a well known road racer) are all complete neanderthals. Fortunately the owner and workshop manager are more appreciative of our taste in bikes!

I bumped into drew in the supermarket last night but he wasn't pissed!
There are 4 RB members in our little town now plus a couple of lurkers that have waved me down whilst out riding. Not bad for a town of less than 1500 souls!
