Was there a kit to lighten the suntour xc post?

Bolts are heavy. Clamp is brutish as well. Otoh it has great design and finish is first class typical of suntour.

I've not seen a kit for a suntour post but agree they are lovely, well made and finished.

Replacing the bolt with a ti one would shave some grams but not sure there's much else you can do unless you drill or grind out some material from the burly parts without reducing their structural and load bearing capabilities.

I mean for the time it came to market (1987?) it wasn´t particularly heavy at ~290g. Compared to what was available back then in 300mm size I would even call it light? But yeah times moved on and a few years later it seemed portly.

Been searching for ages for a 27.2 one which is neither scratched to hell nor priced sky high.
