Did you get it out safe and sound? You know about the disc utilities function to force disc ejection?

Force eject doesn't work. An engineer is coming round next Thursday to take the machine apart.

Stick a paper clip into one of the perforated holes ... get a flash light, look for a round hole on the dvd drive, likely left side, then force the tray to eject the disc.

You could also remove the drive from the G5 and do above method. The G5 has tool-less installs so its super easy.

Not a tray eject system, it's a side mounted slot. Good try though, cheers mate.

Thanks for that fella, I had the same problem with a disc from another cd mag giveaway a while ago, I thought I would see if it would work in the macbook, as It said nothing about compatibility etc, slid it in and it would not eject, right chew on... Btw, this too was from another cycling magazine..

This WORKS! Put the G5 face down on something nice and soft, press eject and gently slap the back as it makes ejection noises...OUT IT COMES! Check the link, I especially love the irony of the " Apple Genius " who wanted to charge the guy $400 for a new hard drive!!
