i had a all leather one on a bontrager privateer that i raced. i only ride selle italia flites on my road bikes and i would only ride the saddle you mentioned above on a mtb.

That's what kevlar fabric does - You can't cut it or tear it, but it do get fuzzy.
You know they make those fancy, super light kevlar canoes, right - They have to laminate fiberglass over the kevlar fabric, because it's too fuzzy to finish.

I sure I have one in full leather it has a yellow x on the back and the logo on the side that's all I can remember off the top of my head bit I know it's got a few nicks

To me this saddle doesn’t look to be an SST98. It lacks the elastometers section at the front end and the rear end next to the end of the rails doesn’t have the option for mudguards as per the picture posted above. These look to be good saddles!
