It is six years since forum members Kaiser and Sithlord helped me with a 1992 Stumpjumper build.

And over those years my desire to own a late 1990s example hasn't really gone away. I remember sitting on one in Evans in the Cut at Waterloo - a blue 1999 Stumpjumper - and thinking what a beautifully proportioned bike! I think it is the slightly oversize (for the time) down tube on the M2 frames that did it, and the classic colour ways that mean these bikes still look great today.

So, come on then - who has one of these tucked away somewhere? I am 5 ft 9 so a 16 inch or 17 inch would work well. Open to colours though blue, black and red are my favourites. My wife has a 1998 mango Stumpjumper so perhaps not a his and hers match. Happy to look at a frame or whole bike, and I don't expect a minty example to be a bargain.

Much appreciated,

Fred

Re:

Wow! You have an amazing collection of Stumpjumpers. Love them :D

My white Stumpjumper frame is 17 inches and seems to fit me well; my wife is taller than me and her 18 inch Stumpjumper frame feels too big for me - hence on the look out for another 17 inch frame.

Love your mango M2 but I would rather have a different colour I think :D

Interested in this 1993 M2?

Re:

That is a lovely bike -and thank you for the thought - but I would really prefer a later version in a solid colour.

Much appreciated though :D

There is the perfect example on Craigs List at the moment (my apologies if I am not allowed to include a link):

I have sent an email but no reply. A long shot I suppose as I live in the UK.

I think it might be easier to tell me which Stumpjumpers you don't own - blimey!

Very lovely - probably an inch too large for me but that frame model and colour is what I really want.

Have you ever come across anyone else with one? The hunt is on!

have a look at this 1998 stumpjumper pro built up with xt parts, pace rc36 forks, rolf satellite wheels ritchey seatpost, avid brake levers- I sold this to the vendor last year, looks like he never pedaled it and he has listed it quite badly as he doesn't appear to know that much on bikes. most of the parts were new old stock xt - chainset/rear mech avid brake levers etc. the frame is an 18 inch size and not 19 inch as he has advertised.
