Has anyone in the Cardiff area got any old 26”, 27” or 700c wheels in reasonable condition that they are prepared to give away to a good cause?
I've started volunteering at a new local bike re-cycling scheme attached to this organisation – www.cycletrainingwales.org.uk.
We take dumped or donated old bikes, renovate and service them and sell them on cheaply to help people get started or back into biking, and to reduce waste.
We always seem to be short of usable wheels, especially 27” & 700c, as most of the bikes we get have rusting chromed steel wheels. Any new stuff we buy hits the cost of the organisation, and we've had to buy a lot of new wheels.
I know it's cheeky asking for karma stuff but we're non-profit-making and I think it's for a good cause so anything you are prepared to give please pm me. Local collection can be arranged or you can donate using the contact details on the website.
While I'm being cheeky any unwanted but usable bits are always welcome.
P.S. the bikes we get are, as you would expect, not top end stuff so we're not after XT quality, just usable and safe.
