The alternative is a quill to Ahead converter, which you can get in black, and then the world is your oyster so far as black Ahead stems is concerned. The only problem with the converters is that if you have them set to rise up a bit the 1 inch portion looks ugly, but I've seen one with a piece of black plastic pipe cut to length and fitted over the slimmer part of the converter. Carefully done and it looks good.
