Voodoo Erzulie

So I've just picked this up locally, I don't know much about Voodoo bikes but from the quick search I did online they seem to get a pretty good review so I thought it was worth a shot. I may have overpaid by £20 or so for it but I won't lose any sleep.

As you can see it's relatively rough shape (no dents or repairs though) but that's to be expected from a bike made in 1997 I Guess and the components are not exactly high end either but I'm not overly fussed.

So this will probably be one of those long drawn out projects as I'm in no rush to get it up to speed so the first job in the coming weeks will be to strip all the bits off of it and get it ready for a re-spray...colour to be confirmed later I think (I like the orange but may go for a titanium grey or similar...we'll see).

So what do you think?

I really like the early Voodoo's, very underated bikes.

This one looks in nice condition and i think after you have stripped it and given the frame a clean and polish it shouldnt need a respray. Maybe spend the money on upgrading some of the components and just ride it 8)

Yes, I'm inclined to agree. It doesn't look too bad on closer looking. I'll see how it is after a clean etc.

Seat post was a pain to get out...

Nice, like the Voodoo look! Any progress?

Yes, basically I completely stripped it down and cleaned everything up. It's had a new BB, new grips, new chain and new decals. I was going to re-spray it but to be honest it's just not worth it. It's cleaned up reasonably well but there's a fair few minor scratches and chips. I will probably sell this on now I've had the fun of re-building it.

Cool to see one of these again. I had one from new in 97, bought from the shop I worked in.
Mine had a Manitou upgrade eventually also & some Bombers iirc.
