well I am gutted, seller has decided that he wont sell it any more as he wont be able to get anything good enough to replace it. (despite having several other bikes-shows how good the voodoos must be then)

The Bizango was one of the original VooDoo range in 1995, along with the Wanga, Hoodoo, Bokor and Canzo. All of these were made in the Mountain Goat works (trading as Altitude Cycles) in Chico, California until 1997 or so. The Erzulie came on the market in 1997 and was made in Taiwan, along with the Bantu and Zobop.
Their sales were held back by the very high prices charged, as you could order a US-made frame with almost a custom build of whatever fork and groupset you wanted. The Taiwan-built frames could be also be ordered with any fork you wanted plus either an STX or STX-RC/LX groupset. As it turned out, this wasn't a very successful strategy. They also didn't publicise the fact that the Bizango etc frames were US-made. You couldn't fail to know that a Kona Hot was made in the USA, but you could buy a Bizango frame (for £100 less) without realising that it had been made in the same place as a Hot.
If he won't sell, he won't sell. But how has he made his mind up without knowing how much he would get for it?

I think when he said he couldnt get anything to replace it he meant that he wouldnt be able to find anything that he would like as much. sounds like he's had it a long time and to be honest didnt sound convinced that he would sell it in the first place (you can usually tell).

You do need to know what you're looking for. When my VooDoo came up on eBay, the owner didn't give a date for it as he didn't have any idea. So I may have been the only bidder who knew from this picture that it was a 1996 frame, and therefore made in the USA. It was in almost perfect condition and it's a very nice frame to ride.
