VOODO ZOLOP '95 - NEED REPLACEMENT PIVOT BEARING - HELP!

dexter-dexter

Retro Newbie
I have a 1995 vintage Voodoo Zolop which I’m still enjoying.

However the main pivot bearing where the front and rear frame section join
is getting loose ie moving laterally which is less than ideal.

Can anyone identify the bearing for me please so I can source a replacement?

I’m told all theses bearings have a four digit ID code which would also help.

All help/suggestions (other than get a new bike) appreciated.

Cheers.

Re:

Get one out and check the code, then go HERE for your replacement.

However, if you have lateral play, it may also be time for new bolts, bushes and shims.

Re:

Pretty much ... I went HERE for upgraded stainless (read, for fatter people!) shock bushings and got new bolts from Pro-Bolt as they're just down the road.

Hey Dexter

I bought a low mileage Zobop identical to yours just for the Fox Alps 4 shock which I needed for another project the frame is in great shape and yours for the price of postage - where are you ?

:D :D :D :D

Wow.

Thanks so much for that.

I'm down in Winchester and would love the frame - could be a life saver.

What's the best way to exchange details etc?

Cheers

Re: Voodoo Zobop Zolop Joe Murray bearings

Just for the archive record the GMN bearing is marked 6003 and I think it’s a 2RSR type although the latter is not stamped on it

Before going any further with mine I’ve checked the following

Pivot bolt for wear - None what so ever
The Bushing - Nil Wear
The Bearings - Spin freely

so all good - just need to push them out and transplant or buy new bearings and just use the bushing and pin bolt, looking on line this appears to be them but made by FAG so comparable if not better quality http://www.bearingshopuk.co.uk/6003-2rsr/

Looking at your frame it’s appears to be a 20 inch and this is an 18 so moving the parts over and use the whole frame isn’t going to be an option given the length of seat post you’ve got going on there you need a big frame.

Donar frame packed up courtesy of a Mongoose Box from Halfords and being collected tomorrow so you should have Friday I reckon.
