Wanted Vitus 992 Frameset or Complete Bike

Dirt Disciple
Hi all, bit of a long shot but looking to see if anyone has a Vitus 992 they're looking or can be tempted to part with... Either size 56 or 58 will work, preferably 58 though. Cheers!

hey, I have a 56cm Vitus 787 cyclocross bike. Have been playing with the thought of selling it as I really need a 58cm, but I have this one and another Vitus 979 in 60cm, which is closer to my size. I'll attach a picture of the frame (pic taken when I took it apart for servicing), but currently it's almost built back up with Shimano 105 mostly. If you're interested I can send through some pics when it's finished

That's just a bit cool isn't it..! I was explicitly looking for a 992 to retro mod and use as a training bike, however, how much were you looking for if you were to part with it?

Yes sorry I noted you're looking for a 992, but thought it can't hurt to see if you're interested :)

This bike was not a retail but provided to a professional rider for a Peugeot sponsored cyclocross team in England. Maybe not the best candidate to retro mod though given it's still in its original 90s racing spec! Apart from newer 105 combo shifters, original had 600 STI on it. I reckon I'd be looking for £600, also may consider (part) swaps. I've serviced it and replaced chain, inner/outer cables, bar tape

This is for sale.

NOS frame with restored decals, NOS Flite, Mavic Cosmic Pro tubulars, Mavic group with Shimano Claris 8spd levers.

Size 57.

You’ll need deep pockets, though - and it’d be coming from Sydney…

By the way, I will sell the frameset with seatpost, maybe with the Mavic cranks & BB (and NOS Flite, for the right price). My next project has arrived so a bike has to go; and this groupset would be ideal on the next one.

I'd be chasing AU$2950 with the Flite and the cranks & BB, plus shipping.

I have been looking for a Vitus 787 cyclocross for ages! They keep coming up on leboncoin, but I have never succeeded in getting a seller to respond to my messages. Perhaps it's my bad French?

Can't quite tell whether a 56 would be big enough--I usually ride a 58, but measured to the top of the seat tube. I guess Vitus measurements are to the center(re)? Any thoughts whether the frame would fit a 6' person with fairly ordinary proportions? Thanks!

If I had the room, I'd snap your hand off for the CX rig... Can only have one though! Lovely frame, just can't justify it atm!

At 6ft, that 56cm should fit nicely, YankeeDan.
