Virgin broadband modem help...

I currently use the set top box for my 2Mbps broadband, but want to upgrade to the 10Mbps. However I am told the set top box isn't compatible with that sort of speed, so have to pay for the modem instead. I can either pay £30 and have it installed or £15 and install myself.

Question is - how easy is it to set up/install? What's involved?

just plug my rj45 in one end - but what does the modem plug into in the wall?

I am with virgin cable , but I have a router .

the cable comes into the house and is split into 2 , one end goes the V box , the other end goes the router .

I too have Virgin media.
Cable comes into house and splits in 2 from box on wall. One cable goes to the V box and one to the modem.

tell them your leaving and they will bribe you with free stuff to stay...worked for me....now on 10 meg when we started off a 2....they upgraded for free.
