vintage pro drive Part 3 of 3

Stratos is the ultimate car for me. Love them to the point where I might want to own a replica some day. Never thought about such a thing before. Maybe a Miura too while I am at it, as that is the ultimate supercar for me. :)

My worry is that if I had such a car I would sleep in it, and eat in it, I would probably rig up a tv in it.

I had a Maserati for a while, and ended up driving it to the corner shop, I just could not bear to be away from it.

A couple of years ago I did a tyre testing day at Prodrives HQ. Totaly bonkers round the high speed course and short tarmac rally stages in a scooby. Went on the basalt tile skid pad, was fine until I got one wheel off the tiles and onto the grippy tarmac. Booted it and something went bang! the car was retired hurt.

The best till last?

That car was last used on the 1989 Rallye Sanremo. It was driven by Mark Duez. He won the European Championship that year. I still have the rally plate that was fitted to the front of his emergency service car.
