Neither of those are good value!!!

Do not pay over £100 for a carbolite framed Pug, it's nothing more than gas pipe tubing. Much better looking for Columbus or Reynolds tubed bikes. There have been a couple of very nice pugs on here going for between £100 - £200 lately. Take a look at the green RX100 equipped bike that was up for £120.

Oh hold on neither of those you linked to are Carbolite frames.....

I'd say that both of those are about £75 over priced.

thanks

ok thanks a lot.

yeah i was quite keen on the 70's pug (reynold's frame) I posted. Do you know what (apart from year) is the main difference between the two models I posted.....? thanks

The silver one looks a little overpriced to me - the 531 frame is good, but the components are average. The black one doesn't have any info on the frame material (apparently the forks are columbus) so I wouldn't buy it without confirmation, and the components also seem a little lower quality than the silver one.

Also the two frames are radically different sizes - make sure you know what size you want before you buy, because a bike that is too small or too large will be uncomfortable and difficult to ride.

To be honest, if carbolite is what you want, I see carbolite-framed Peugeots for £20 at car boot sales or secondhand shops all the time, so that's where I'd head. Ebay prices are ridiculous.

bum,

it transpires my pug is made of gas pipe tubing....Maybe I should start riding in jeans with builders crack

Does anyone else think the rear mech on the silver pug is out of place ? they advertise it as Simplex front and rear but that looks more like a Suntour to me :?

I'd agree with that, I paid £205 for a complete 87 Peugeot Perthus (Reynolds 753) with all original components late last year.
