Bl**dy el...........our cat stopped peeing.....so took to vet...........£220 all in all.........catheter......drugs ....overnight stay............. ..........i love him to bits and the vet said if left overnight he may have died due to toxins or bladder burst. Bang goes paying the balance for a nice Ti frame I had coming soon..............next time i'll dress him in a hat and coat and take him to the doctors......i'm sure it would be cheaper !!!

Hope your moggy is doing well?

One word, Pet Insurance.

Saved us thousands.

al. :D

Yep, always a delight, especially if it out of hours.

one of our Chins had to go as she'd had a fit, after midnight and we'd been out for dinner. taxi there, taxi back, and bill for 10mins of her time to tell us nothing she could do right now, just keep watching her..

£130

Yup it was out of hours..................if he (the cat) could talk i'd have asked him if he could have waited till morning ! :? ..........can't stand seeing an animal in pain though.

how on earth do you notice if your cat's not going for a pee? Presumably they go in the garden somewhere (although our's didn't and my mum bumped him off for it one day), and when they are out of sight. so what did he do? pop in the front room and tell you?

Litter tray indeed..........but he also told me with his painfull yowling straining to go pee pee  poor thing.............IF though however we were still living in wales, we would not have known as he had free range of the local hills.

I feel your pain - at the start of December shelled out nearly £200 for the dog to have his knackers off and be chipped (returns about 50mpg now :) ) which is not covered by insurance and he decided to go and get some sort of stomach bug last week. After vomiting everywhere for a few days and going right off his food (he's a black lab so not good) he has now returned to normal. The trip to the vet to check him over was £70! :( Now have to sell the I-drive frame I bought myself as a Christmas present because I have food to buy - rubbish.

You can sterilise a cat with a pair of bolt cutters and a red hot poker, doesn't take long and saves a fortune.
