Very early Orange Clockwork (ebay.co.uk).

I've got an Orange Clockwork frame no. A1113422.
Are you able to tell me the year from that?

It's already painted orange so I was planning to add white to it if period correct?
Thanks

I don't always get this correct but yours could be a November 1991 frame. Post up a picture and that should give more clues.

Like that. I hope whoever gets it doesn't repaint it and tart it up in a way, just replace the naff bits with something more fitting.

Here's some photo's, is Nov 1991 correct?

I was going to attempt adding white fade with a rattle can I have in the shed and add these stickers:

Daz- Frame details point towards a late 91, early 92 frame so I think my guess could be ok. If you post the question up about painting in retro chat the experts will advise  Are those the decals from ebay? If so I'd be interested to see what you think.

Beagle- Agreed.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm full on studying and working at the moment so wont be making a start on this untill June.
Just bowsing and looking for parts at the moment.
I've got a nos 26.8 DX seat post and some XT/XTR parts from the early 90s so 92 would be quite suitable.

Cheers

is the clockwork powdercoated? If so you could hit a few issues getting the canti's and bottom bracket in if there is powdercoat in the threads- looks good BTW.

If built in November 91 then it's clearly a 92 model. Here for reference is a picture firmly dated to 92, with a decal style that indicates that the ones you have bought are quite authentic. Also what I believe to be a 92 Clockwork in the colour scheme you're aiming for.

Thanks for the info.
I don't think the frame is powder coated, judging from some of the storage scratches; most will be covered up when I add white and decals.
I plain to ride this bike a lot so won't worry too much about perfecting the paint job.
I purchased 3 sets of decals for a discount and plan to slowly collect redundancy on period parts. So after a few years of constant use I can always strip it down and re-paint. It will never get hard off-road use and I'll watch out for any rust (the frame is suprisingly clean of rust at the moment).
