Veloflex tanwalls

These are very light and look great, but durable / puncture resistant? anyone bought these who'd like to comment?

ta!

I used to ride them on my regular good bike. Durability ok but not as good as a 'normal' high end tyre like a pro race. I stopped because Warks County Council (noted your location ;) ) generally resurface the roads with those stupid chipping and I ended up cutting up three in a couple of months.

I do however still run them on my older bikes and they are fine. To summarise, wouldn't advise as a daily use tyre, as something for occasional use, fine.

amberwalls etc

ah OK, no to Cotswolds trips then! I ride Conti GP 4000 on the Cervelo, and Conti Ultrasport and Duranos on the steelies;

Vittoria CX have an amberwall, I wonder how they fare?

I've ridden the Merckx down that way plenty without issue. Like I said they're just not as durable as something like a pro race, esp with 'fresh' chippings on the road.

Veloflex use the old Vittoria mould afaik so be intersting to know indeed.

Vittoria CX and Veloflex Paves are pretty similar in feel and durabilty - great for best but not day to day

would you notice the benefit of a lightweight tyre? 170 odd gms compared to a lumpy Conti?

I wouldn't use it on a day to day bike, Sunday best and the odd Sportive... :lol:
