V-Brake Mounts

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy a 2009 Rockshox SID suspension but it doesn't have v-brakes mount.
Since I'm kinda new to this, my question is if its possible to apply some kind of v-brake mount to that suspension since i don't wanna buy disk brakes.

Regards,

If it doesn't already, I suspect you're stuffed unfortunately.
No they don't include v-brake mounts... damn!
Since i saw some rear disk brake adapter i thought it exists for V's.

not to my knowledge. You can get v-brake mounts for forks like some of the Pace ones, but not others. I may be wrong of course... but don't think so.

I'm having a similar problem at the moment in that I want some 100mm forks with v-brake mounts and most are disk only :(

Well, that looks like the death knell of V brakes, the way canti stops disappeared from frames ,now its the turn of the pivot stud itself

Soon, the only bikes with v brakes about ,will be featured on here

And finally.
Vintage Canti's can take their rightful place .....in the dustbin....

Well i'm not a pro of XC but doesnt a good v-brake do the same as a disk brake?
I saw a lot of people saying that they prefer a good v-brake because its lighter... dunno, what u ppl say?

While I know that you can get disc brakes as light as V's, but for a light, simple rig I still think V's win.

I ride a singlespeed built on an early Alu Cindercone frame using very, very ordinary bits (Deore V's, Kalloy seatpost, Sugino Impel cranks etc)...and it's 21lb-ish all-up.

When I see the latest all-mountain bikes with discs, and they are another 10lb over mine, I think the argument for light, simple kit like V's is persuasive.

However, they don't exactly have showroom appeal. Even shonky BSOs are getting disc brakes (for brake shaped objects..) these days.

Both the SID Team and the SID Race are available with canti boss options. The usual suspect shops will probably not have them cheap but they are available depending on the version and colour you want.

Edit - you'll have to have the 80mm set up out the box if you want canti bosses. Supplier has the Race version in stock in black, 80mm. RRP is 500 but PM me and I can probably better that.
