V Brake Levers with CentrePull/Caliper Brakes

Hi. I'm looking to build up a retro hybrid bike using a 531 road frame & forks with flat bars and 8/9 speed V Brake/Shifter combos.

What I'd like to know is how the cable pull on V Brake levers relates to the cable pull required for CentrePull/Caliper Brakes.

Vee brakes need more cable pull than cantis therefore they will work. Lever travel might be quite short so you'll probably need to experiment to get the right feel.

Thanks for the advice Monty.
I've got some Weinmann centre pull brakes that I'd like to use. Also got some newer calliper brakes that could also be used.
Be interesting to see which solution works best.
I'll post some pics when I get round to building the bike up.
