USE SX suspension seatpost question

I've had the post for a while but until today in hadn't bolted a saddle to it and fitted it into a frame.
It goes up and down as it should but there is also a very slight, about 8mm at the nose of the saddle, rotational/side to side movement aswell.
I don't think its wear/play as if i push on the sides of the saddle there is no movement.
Does this sound normal??

Sounds like wear to me. They are shockingly easy to strip apart though, so you could easily take a peek inside and see what's what. Parts are pretty cheap too, so if there's no obvious defects other than worn parts, it's worth the investment to make it as new.
