I have just got hold of a USE seatpost, and the whole non-layback saddle to bracket looks a bloody pain to set up; anyone have any pics of it with a saddle attached?

Also, how far in does the shim go and which way up does it go?

Thanks

Or is it like this?

I know nothing about the posts, so couldn't say if its the Alien

It looks similar to the pic, but if it is then the half tube type bit is missing :(

I got it off SPESHMIKE who picked it up off a chap at the Cannock meet last Christmas.

The one in the picture looks much better than the unutterably bad alien. The one I had (currently lying scattered around the garden) slipped back so badly I had to lube the damn thing! Ouch!!

Any pics of the Alien post.......so I'll know if I have a bit missing from my post??

Cheers

If it is an alien don't worry once set up correctly you can take the bolts out and it still won't budge,it just takes alot of patiance to set up.Changing saddles or angle is a pain in the behind though.

No, its not an Alien, its the other one pictured.

It appears I have the 1/2 tube bit missing :(

very easily lost, however potentially easy to make one out of old seatpost/handlebar if you're confident it's strong enough?
