USE seatpost - but which way is right.

Sort of confused here but maybe some experts can chime in.

I have a old school USE seatpost and I'm not sure if the sticker should be facing forward or backwards.

The alloy bar that goes through the tube seems to be level and it clamps the seat rails flat so assuming I have done it right, although just need clarification.

Cheers.

careful you dont overtighten those little allen bolts though... i have been looking for a replacement threaded top bit for ages

I found with USE seatposts its best if the sticker faces the bottom of the bin

I've always preferred the idea of the sticker being on the back, but there should only be one way round where it actually "works", and that is typically with the sticker front facing

Too bloody right. I had one of those little bolts shear once, luckily it was the front one and the saddle tipped me backwards of the bike rather than forwards on to the exposed post.

Stopped using them after that and shudder when I see them.

There are some places where a little over engineering and extra few grams are worth it.

Never had any trouble with them. Even now with an added stone in weight sitting on them.
