US small item tariffs.

Yup. Who’d have thought it would be inconvenient, still it will no doubt hugely benefit the US economy.
How exactly will US consumers paying higher prices for goods be a benefit to the economy? Even if importers eat part of the tariff cost, it is still a negative in that the company's income goes down. Bottom line is that tariffs are taxes paid for by citizens/companies of the importing country. Tariffs have never, nor never will be, a boon to an economy.

There's been a court ruling that Trump doesn't have the authority to impose all these tariffs. He's claiming National Emergency Powers. The court has given him until Oct. to appeal this. Of course by then it probably will be an emergency.
Russian Nuclear Icebreakers will probably be bringing Chinese products across the Arctic to UK soon.
