Firstflight bikes have something called a Mountain Machine, 26" front wheel/20" rear wheel, possibly early attempt to get even lower gearing than available up to that point :shock:

For me, a first approximation of unusual and quirky is: anything that's not two triangles made out of round tubes or put it another way, anything that's not my Kona Hahanna.

It's a question of degree init?

Hanebrink did some pretty cool/crazy bikes.

back in the day there were "mammoth bikes", dont know if any one remmembers them, alu estay ones. trying to find a pic for you, havent seen one of them for a good 10 - 15 yrs or so.
