unknown frame..

Re: aluminium O

I don't think Dave_H's is a 92. The O frame I got off John a while back is circa 92 and has rivited cable guides and a non replaceable hanger.[/quote]

Good to see there's some more aluminium "O"'s!! :D
Andrew, The one in Dave_H's post is in mine now. The other polished one I posted was my '91 "O" before paint. I've attached some detail pics of the frame I got from Dave_H.
I got my info from the brochure scans in the Archive section. If you look at the '92 "O" description, it mentions cable guide and replacement hanger as improvements over the previous year. By '93, the "O" was gone altogther.... although the Aluminium Elite was still available.
I'm pretty sure Mine's a '92 as I already have another earlier "O" with brazed cable guides. This 'other' frame has riveted guides and replaceable mech hanger. The rear stays are also 1/2" shorter.
Perhaps your one is a cross over variant from '91 to '92... Orange was a small company then and it wasn't uncommon to get a different colour or adjusted spec... they even put a disclaimer on the back of the brochure to cover this!!! :)

Cheers. :D

I suppose mine could be a late 91 painted as a 92 (other than who the previous owner is I have no history for it). It also interesting to note that the O shown in the 92 catalogue has downtube cable routing rather than the refined version.

Anyway your welds look much nicer than the ones on mine ;)

Here's John's shot of my frame for the record.

Aluminium O

:D :D :D corrrr!!... How big is that frame?
Great pic there Andy... I'm currently trying to reproduce those orange/ black decals for the '92 and that's a great reference shot. :D
That was the colour that I first ordered BITD. They were out of stock when mine was ordered so I ended up with one of the 1st black ones.
The graphics on yours are the earlier ones, so it could easily be a '91/ '92 crossover. Graphics on the later models looked like the one's that are on scant's frame and the one I got from Dave_H before I stripped it all off!!

Look's in great condition though....you going to build it up? :D

This was a colour option to orange/white fade.
Two came into the shop when I got mine when first out, mine in orange/white and Guys in this grey. Black was not an option on first run as far as I am aware.
