Hi,
I bought this bike new back in 1996. The last 20 years it hasn´t been used that much. Just some occasional running at my country house.





I got some inspiration to turn it into a city bike, retro style.

Added the basket, pedals, grips and saddle. The rest is pretty much original.

Frame: Chro mo 969.
Shifters: Front STX, Rear STX RC.
Brakes: Alivio.
Hubs: Alivio.
Handlebar: Concept.
Frontwheel: Mavic (rear was stolen)
Tyres: Cheng Shin.

Newly added parts:
Basket: Stålhästen.
Grips: Stålhästen.
Saddle: Brooks (Comfortable but might change to a B17).
Pedals: Tecora E MTB.
Water bottle cage: Custom Junkies.

Got the same model bike in green and did a similar conversion. Used an angled stem extension to bring bars higher. Had to replace brake levers and shifters as shifters were clogged with old grease, and the ratchets no longer worked. Fortunately, I was able to find cheap replacements on Ali Express. What tires do you recommend for city use on 26 inch wheels?

Yes, that would look great!

Was thinking the Continental Urban Contact. Does anyone have experience with these? Specifically, 16x2 or 16x1.75?
