I've got a week off at the end of July, so i'm going to book a holiday, as you do :D
I need a location with good walking, local(ish) beach something for us to do if the weather turns for the worse :?
The holiday party will include me, my good lady, my 11 year old son and my 8 year old daugther all of which enjoy getting out and about :D :D
Accomodation(of whatever type) must be dog friendly. I've been told that some places have kennels so that if you want to do something without the pooch for a day there is somewhere to leave her?
So anybody had an outstanding family holiday in the UK recently?

.

A S..very nice, in fact bloody nice :D but i a little out of my budget
Having looked at a few websites today, i think i might stay in Wales but go west and north a bit :D :D .

Cornwall! Just spent 2 weeks at Crantock Caravan Park (run by Parkdean). Very nice, good views, dog friendly and 5 minutes walk from the beach.

I have spent a couple of very enjoyable weeks in Anglesey. Fairly compact with a good number of attractions, (the aquarium, fossil museum that is basically some dude's house ans Halen Mon salt place are very good), and wonderfully clear water.

Easy to nip over the bridge to Snowdonia as well.

One more for Cornwall.
Went for first time last year - superb.
Loads to do, generally better weather than here oop North!

Hired a couple of bikes and rode the Bodmin trail one day - great day out.

Did you eat at the pub in Crantock?
Trivia, that's where Aphex Twin first started DJ-ing.

Stay local-ish: Gower. We stay at the youth hostel at Port Eynon - it's just fabulous, it's an old life boat house right on the beach. Not sure about dogs though.

Then visit Mewslade Bay for sandcastles, caves, mad rock formations and surfing. Beach disappears at high tide though
