Ugly modern bikes

I think it's a sign that designers are starting to exploit the properties of carbon fibre, rather than making (as I read recently in an engineering journal) 'black aluminium' which essentially made a like for like copy without developing the material's full potential.

Takes some getting used to though...especially those AWFUL chainsets from both Shimano and Campag. Now Campag are making ugly stuff then all hope is gone.

The dura ace is growing on me, slowly. But the latest Campag ones are hideous :shock:

Yikes!!!! I had a look at Campagnolo's website
The mechs are hideous, ghastly pieces of Lego- I don't give a monkey's whether they function like space age or not - same reason I wouldn't wear a Hublot or drive a Hummer or copy Ali G

I'm underwhelmed - I was expecting to Shreek but instead I merely groaned. It's bland and solid looking - certainly not classy or attractive but not flipping Sh1t like Campagnolo.
