Devout Dirtbag
I have bought a GT Tequesta today knowing it had a u-brake on the back but not knowing v-brakes won't fit because of the hole for the spring. I removed the u-brake and tried fitting the V-brake but obviously i couldn't.I didnt ride it before removing it so im not sure how well it worked before.
After i put the old brakes back on i noticed that there doesn't seem to be any springing in them to pull the shoes away from the rim so they are binding and totally unresponsive. Am I doing something wrong in reinstalling them? also i have noticed BMX's still use U-brakes so, if they do turn out to be knackered will a new set of those work? or if anyone knows how to convert the brake pegs to take v-brakes that would be cool.
I know you guys will have an answer but please nowt too technical
