As above, most threaded/bolt on pads will work - I use Kool Stop Supra 2 pads, you can reverse the order of the washers to adjust clearance dependent on rim width etc.

Where do you find new U brake pads? i would like Shimano if possible.

We keep these aztecs in stock because they suit all sorts of older caliper, but to me they look a little small on a u-brake, and the thread sticking out the back can look a little jaggy.

We keep these aztecs in stock because they suit all sorts of older caliper, but to me they look a little small on a u-brake, and the thread sticking out the back can look a little jaggy.

I use the Shimano pads on the U brake and the Aztec's on the front cantilevers of both my '92 GT Bravado and '91 GT Avalanche and when set up they're the best compound for these brakes...they look to be the same compound.

Swisstop in cartridges are better, but cost
