U-brake modification idea.

Has anyone ever ran a U-brake with a V-brake noodle instead of a crossover yoke?

U-brakes are available with a noodle and operate like a linear brake as opposed to a centre pull brake arch. Go look in BMX sections of bike shops, these U-brakes are a more modern interpretation but are basically the same. I had one for a while, worked pretty well.
