U brake bike I D help please!

Looks like its an Ammaco.

Going by the pic, Tange frame, 6 speed Deore thumbies, Deore brake levers and front canti, which dates it at about 1988. Not a bad bike, just not well known.

Went and picked this up a few hours ago, an Ammaco Mountain Pro Racer in Tange, it's got mostly Deore with a Sakae crank, I'm going to try and give it a bit of love and see how it turns out...

Thanks again retoyetirigid :)

IIRC Ammaco were another company that started out with decent bikes, then slowly degenerated into BSO-land. I'd like to see an early example brought back to life.

I was suprised how light this was when I put it in the boot! I have another Ammaco in the shed, a very slack angled machine with multi coloured paint and bad components, that thing is a 2 man lift :) The Tange frame on this one looks reasonably made and not dissimilar to Muddy Foxes from the same period, I will stick some pics up when it's cleaned, I have a soft spot for 80's bikes and this one just about clears the quality level above BSO level!
