Tyres for a 1992 Bike

Farmer Johns and FJs Cousins were getting a bit long in the tooth by 92 weren't they?
I seem to remember having some of them earlier than that, but I could be mistaken.

Specialized Ground Controls were also around then, had some but they were like tractor tyres and sounded horrendous on the road :wink:[/quote]

Great if you pumped them up to around 100psi, they almost whistled on a smooth road. Used them for club 10 mile time trials 8)

Still got them, they'll be well matured now along with the narrower ones Specialized made, about 1.5" wide. Good for mud.

Hardpacks? Must get down to the shed and check!

I think the Ritchey Z max was the tyre to have on an xc bike in '92;

Thomas Frishnecht won the world cup in '92 on 2.1 Ritchey Megabyte z-maz tyres, and Henrik Djernis won the worlds on the (rare) red version.
