Tyre Clearance ?

OK folks, what are your recommendations for minimum tyre clearances on frame and forks.

I'm trying to figure how much width and thus lovely fattness I can get away with on my mtb for riding around trail centres such as Glentress. Do not want to invest if people think less than whatever is a bad idea.

Cheers

Reckon whatever fits in the frame for Glentress and the like. Mud clearance isn't too much of an issue. Some of the modern big carcass tyres roll well too and are nice and light.

depends how much mud and how "sticky" the mud is. The more mud and the stickier, the more clearance. I would suggest 5mm minmum for totally dry conditions to account for wheel flex so the lugs dont rub the paint off.
