Yes we've had a tyre blow. But how many have had it happen 2 hours after you'd got home.
I'd been out all day,but without and tools or puncture repair kit.I got home and was sitting enjoying a little ciggie[bad of me i know]
All of a sudden a loud whoosh, the escaping of all the air in my front tyre.I go into the hall where the bike is and its front is flat.

Bloody lucky i'd say.If it had went while out i'd have had a very long walk home.

But any ideas as to why it happened the way it did :?
Tyres are at about 80psi.

Changed the innertube and its a fair size hole, definitely not a pin prick piece of glass or thorn :?
Looks like the bead wasnt seated properly and the stretched inner tube got caught in the gap.
Why though it would burst a couple of hours after i got home is a mystery though, especially as i was hammering along a pretty rough path on slicks.

Was it leaning on a warm radiator heat expanding the air inside?

How cold is it at the moment up there?

You've got your heating on?

This is Scotland. We've always got our heating on

no.I think it was the above reason :? Tyre bead not seating properly.I'd put them on and pumped straight to 80 odd psi.Im thinking it was the tyre cooling down ,thus relaxing and the jammed inner tube got stretched beyond
and just popped. :? Unusual i know but i think now thats what must of happened.

ROB- MTB -Slick tyres city jets or something :? -26"etc nothing special. It is a bit bumpy on rough ground at speed but you get there quicker :D
And no real grip so keep the wheel straight
