So this $7,000 bike is in Hungary and will ship to the US. Hmm.....yeah, doesn't sound fishy at all. :?

I found a pic of the seller:

people are paying 12K for old Yeti's and this is as rare.

I'd probably have to question the rarity of a Taiwanese made carbon frame. Is it not just the paintjob on the frame and parts that's rare rather than the frame itself?
It's more of a 'special edition' rather than a truly rare thing. There's less than a handfull of C26, each one unique and handmade and they are not just a resprayed version of a mass production frame.
While I can understand the Yeti making cash I can't really see this GT or many other similar modern frames holding a place in the communities psyche as highly as the Yeti. A Golden Zaskar isn't a world championship winning frame, hasn't been ridden by anyone of note, isn't really an icon of the blossoming sport from back in the early 1990s, isn't really an experiment in what is possible with new frame technologies and hasn't been designed or built by a famous character in the sport.
The new Zaskar is more of a tired pastiche of a classic frame, sort of like the new BMW mini is to a 1960s Cooper, sure it's nicer to ride, just its far more generic, watered down and mass market.

Along the lines of what I was going to say, so thank you for saving me from all the typing...

The most obvious pointer to rareity and desirability is in the title of this thread: 'two of these currently listed' rather than 'this is the first one of these that has been listed since John Parkers garage sale many years ago!

I've got some STX kit.

Maybe I can sell that for a fortune seeing the current prices for NOS M735 components...

They are both component groups after all.

There's only a couple hundred STX items on the bay at the moment (no doubt)...
