I've only had experience with tubeless ready rims and UST tyres (Mavic Crossland & Schwalbe Racing Ralph)
The tyres were a bugger to get on the rim, but once on they inflated easily with a track pump and no sealant in the tyres. They stayed up like that overnight too. I didn't use soapy water like most folks recommend as I was just testing the system out, but seen as it worked I decided to plough on...
Decided to add some Joe's No Flats sealant just in case I did get a puncture and to ensure a good seal on the bead, simply popped off a small section of tyre from the rim, added a slosh of fluid and popped the rim back on, re-inflated with a track pump.
Not had a single puncture yet (dunno if anything has penetrated the tyre or not) running them at 25psi & below sometimes, still not had to add more air to the tyres, they've been sat in my workshop since the end of Autumn though as they're Racing Ralph's and not very good in gloop!
I think a compressor might be needed with Ghetto tubeless to inflate the tyre quickly enough to seat on the bead, soapy water will also lube the tyre & ghetto'd inner tube to help the bead seat quicker, it will also show up any air leaks.
