I know, its a cheap shot, but sometimes the hypocrisy gets a bit much. I bought my Zaskar instead of the 'O' parked next to it and I couldnt of told you why at the time.

You really ought to read the responses again mark, look at the difference, Did you see the Shock, the frames on a different level, no snob value required, no wallet waving needed, and to be fair this certainly has never been regarded as there best effort, but look at the difference, and you can get one of these for pitance.

As a customer of Orange buying the X1 you'd be very angry discovering it was terrible after spending a lot of money

a friend got this today any help with id would be appreciated.it has a faded santa cruz decal that looks original and the lacquer underneath is intact but rest of the lacquer has gone

Well, im sure you have gathered by now it isnt a Santa cruz

Me and a few friends went through quite a few cheaper bikes bitd, we tended to ride them a lot harder and try crazier things on them due to the fact they were cheap. One thing i would say for sure though, is they were great fun, its a bike, regardless of cost and i think the fact you have it now is testament to the fact they do not all break

I would build it up and just ride it, you can always upgrade the shock if you really wanted but that should be just fine, a lot of us ride on bits of foam for suspension

by your own definition, you confuse me, with mixed messages...as a spanner man, did you not know the difference between the quality of the shocks alone..? im sure your just toying now.

A bike isnt bad becasue of a review, its because of poor performance and problems. And i know, you know this.

opened up a right can of worms .should re name the thread terrible bikes owned i owned an orange x1 it was terrible.my mate will be pleased its now got a name to it and judging by his past purchases this is the best of the bunch.as this is his next build.thanks for the info as reading your comments were better than his frame
