True Temper tubing question

Hi
I have a 1992 Diamondback Axis with a True Temper OX double butted frame.
I was wondering if anybody knows anything about this tubing? Is it heat treated? What would the modern day Reynolds equivalent be?
Can't seem to find much info.
Thanks

Platinum OX is similar to 853 or Columbus Nivachrom. However, remember that tube profiles and thicknesses are just as important.

Something to remember- with Reynolds, the series number such as 531, 853 etc, doesn't just relate to the material, but also to the physical specifications such as the thickness, dimensions of butting, the whole spec of the tube in question. With most other manufacturers the name usually only refers to the material itself so, for example, while 4130 CroMo has very similar properties to the steel used in 531, the nature of the design of the tube itself can be very different, and thus give a much better or worse product in comparison, dependent on design and construction.

Hamster - Any idea how platinum ox and ox differ? I know there's been a few versions of ox over the years. Plenty of info out there about Platinum but not much about the older stuff.

Chopper - Didn't know that about reynolds, it's just the most familiar tubing to me so I can sort of use it for comparison.

Cheers

Re:

OX is heat treated cro mo like prestige.
OX Plat is air hardened like 853. Nivacrom is not air hardened. Thermacrom is.
853 is seamless; OX Plat seamly. (Prestige is seamless.)

853 has a mix of chromium, molybdenum, manganese, carbon, silicon & copper.
OX Plat has chromium, molybdenum and vanadium.
Nivacrom contains vanadium and niobium.

All are super strong and lovely. Despite having seams, True Temper frames ride beautifully. I have a basic (not heat treated) True Temper AVR Cro Mo frame that is sprightly like Prestige. And Some people think Fat Chance bikes ride pretty well too.

Have a look at table 4 on that Lowdown_On_Tubing site, I might have lay off the pies before riding some of the lighter tube sets. 125lbs is just shy of 9st, I probably haven't been that light since I was about 12 years old.

Ok, so apparently ox is heat treated similar to prestige and reynolds 725.
Thanks for replying and helping me with that people, much appreciated!

i had a read of it, wondered what sort of drugs the creator was on, so googled his name.

Mentally ill, confidence trickster and borderline sociopath with no grounding in any sort of engineering or applied physics.
I'd not worry about the other tube sets.

Unless you've really been abusing the pies.
