But I think that it is a Small, not a Med. From the 1996 Retail Tech Manual:

Center BB to top of seat tube
S - 17.5 inches
M - 19.5 inches
L - 21.5 inches

This is a Med. There is more space between the bottom of the seat tube and the shock compared to yours.
